Edit: These (2 or 3) Porsche 911S were built from Nirosta Steel by ThyssenKrupp. Cars were ordered for promotional reasons by the German Nirosta/Edelstahl-Rostfrei Company. Two or three were built. One was shown at the 1969 IAA Frankfurt Car Show and it's reported that's the lone survivor which went to the Munich Museum.

Quite a feat for the 60's. Stainless is much harder to form than regular steel.

Funny you should mention this. Since I posted, learned of the '36 Ford.
We were also told that the dies were ruined by stamping the stainless car parts, making these the last of these cars ever produced.

weren't they steel anyways? I feel like stainless is a mind trick where you dont see paint and you assume that its naturally heavy.
can anyone confirm a bump in weight?
